A Psalm of Thanksgiving

You honor me God with Your holiness. Mine is a heart all too familiar with my need for redemption. You pour life into me daily and give strength when I’m unaware I feel weak. You bring renewal to my dead places.

Today is a day of thanksgiving. Every day is a day of thanksgiving!

When situations provoke anxiety and panic, You whisper “be still…know that I am God.” When circumstances demand attention to crowd out Your presence, You remind me that in Your holy mountain, every need is provided.

When the noise in my head shouts lies that I am abandoned and alone, Your voice caresses my heart with, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.”

You are my strength. You guide me along smooth and rough terrain, through valleys, and narrow passage ways. You open my heart to amazing vistas of grace and compassion.

Thank You for Your plan and provision, for Your power and peace, and for Your patience and presence. You are there when I’m not attentive, surround me when it appears I’m alone and cut a path for me when I believe I’m making my own way. Every day You cover me.

Old dreams die and give way to new hope. Your heart reminds mine of promises yet fulfilled. Tears usher in reminders from Your Word that You are present…near…close.

Thank you Lord for love that is forgiving, everlasting, unfailing, unconditional, and refreshing.

You honor me with your holiness. I’m staying close to You today. I’m living beautiful.

To Be Hand-Picked vs Heart-Chosen

Each of us wants to feel special. We want to be chosen. We want to be known. Unfortunately, in our effort to feel special, we often use external criteria to ascribe value and worth to ourselves. Those criteria may be rooted in false narratives, outward appearances, or the standards others create for us. In the end, we can feel inadequate, marginalized, dismissed, and unknown.

Choosing the Little Over the Bigness of God

Choosing the Little Over the Bigness of God

Have you ever sensed God charging you to do something that was big and overwhelming?  He stirs a huge vision in your heart or fills you with a plan for something great. In those moments, you often need courage to trust that where God wants to send you is better than where you are. You might think to yourself, “Uhh…not me Lord. I’m not ready. What if I fail? Or worse, yet, what if I’m the wrong one?” You want to embrace the bigness of what God is doing, but you’re overwhelmed with what it might mean and what it might cost you. Consequently, you end up choosing the little.
