A Psalm of My Heart

You O Lord keep me in amazing ways.

You sustain me and surround me with faithful streams of unconditional love. You guide me with wisdom and truth. You comfort my heart with peace and safety.

When fear threatens the quiet spaces of my heart to disrupt and destroy, You speak reminders to my heart. Grow firm and be strong. Be bold and alert. Be prudent, act wisely and understand.

Your power cuts a path for my breakthrough. I will be strong and courageous; You are with me.

My lips praise You. My heart reflects on Your good deeds. My mind embraces the truth of Your Word and the righteousness of Your promises. Strengthen me God in the days ahead. Remind me that Your banner over me is love.

This is a psalm of my heart.

To Be Hand-Picked vs Heart-Chosen

Each of us wants to feel special. We want to be chosen. We want to be known. Unfortunately, in our effort to feel special, we often use external criteria to ascribe value and worth to ourselves. Those criteria may be rooted in false narratives, outward appearances, or the standards others create for us. In the end, we can feel inadequate, marginalized, dismissed, and unknown.

Choosing the Little Over the Bigness of God

Choosing the Little Over the Bigness of God

Have you ever sensed God charging you to do something that was big and overwhelming?  He stirs a huge vision in your heart or fills you with a plan for something great. In those moments, you often need courage to trust that where God wants to send you is better than where you are. You might think to yourself, “Uhh…not me Lord. I’m not ready. What if I fail? Or worse, yet, what if I’m the wrong one?” You want to embrace the bigness of what God is doing, but you’re overwhelmed with what it might mean and what it might cost you. Consequently, you end up choosing the little.
